Sports Image PlusSep 18, 2016Double winning in Pan Delta Finale AFR Series – Maxx Ebenal from ART drove like a champ in the ZhuhaAsian Formula Renault R10 had finished on 18th September afternoon. Although this was the last race in the schedule but drivers were getting anxious since the morning, especially Josh Burdon from BlackArts Racing and Jasper Thong from Asia Racing Team, who were leading on their own class this season. For Road to Champion class Li Qing Yuan from BlackArts Racing was just a step away from leading the group. During the beginning of the race Josh and Maxx Ebenal from Asia Racing Team were battling up through every single lap, while Pavan Ravishankar and Thomas Luedi from BlackArts Racing were chasing right behind and kept seeking for the best chance to overtake. Unfortunately, Najiy Ayyad from S&D Motorsports had mechanical failures twice and had no choice but to enter the pit, losing his precious points on the drivers’ standings. During the 4th lap, there were a total of 5 cars who retired from the race and safety cars showed up in the middle of the race. Maxx’s advantage vanished and Josh started off again by his tail, while all other drivers were getting tight again before the safety car left. However, Maxx kept up the pace and performed so well throughout the race. He won his 2nd champion in the weekend and even just able to make a total difference of 0.699s with Josh. Ni Weiliang from Asia Racing Team took his first win in this season. Class B Xie Hui Lin from Champ Motorsports learnt the lesson and mistake from yesterday race and took the first champion this season, making a great fightback to his main rivals Hua Miao and Jasper from Asia Racing Team. Master Trophy goes to William Tan from Asia Racing Team. Li Qing Yuan took two leading wins in the class this week and brought himself to the top of the Road to Champion drivers’ list. Charles Lin from Asia Racing Team took the second and Marcus Song from S&D Motorsports took the third. Information from the Formula Racing Development (FRD) more photos at our facebook page...
