Details of how to watch the 2021 Asian Mans Series confirmed.
Five time Le Mans winner, Oliver Gavin is set to join the Asian Le Mans Series commentary team for the 2021 Season! He will be commentating alongside long standing, and highly experienced commentator Graham Goodwin.
Gavin, who stepped away from full-time competition after twenty years with Corvette Racing at the end of 2020, will provide an exceptional insight into endurance racing. His racing credentials speak for themselves with five class victories in the premier endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans to his name.
He has also won at Sebring and Petit Le Mans five times with Corvette Racing, and has taken victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
A change in Qualifying format announced: With the greatly condensed calendar for the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series, qualifying will take on a different format for the opening two races in Dubai.
Instead of a qualifying session for each race, there will just be one qualifying window with a 15-minute session each for GT & GTAm, LMP3 and finishing with LMP2 & LMP2 Am. The fastest time set for each car will determine their position for the first race, and their second fastest time will be used to determine their starting position for the second race.
The format will return to normal for the two races in Abu Dhabi.
Broadcast Programme to a Global Audience: Whilst the Asian Le Mans Series season may have a completely different look, the Series will continue to deliver a world class broadcast programme. The ever-popular live streams of all qualifying sessions and races will continue, as will the comprehensive global tv highlights package.
By making the live broadcast available for free, and in full around the world, the Asian Le Mans Series is one of the most accessible race series globally. The Series’ TV package alone has a potential reach of close to half a billion viewers around the globe.
The 2019/ 2020 season delivered record exposure for the Asian Le Mans Series and its partners. The growth in the audience was significant for both the live streams and highlights programmes with over 7 million viewers recorded during the season.
