OCTOBER 19, 2025

MACAU (China) – A new name joined the ranks of FIBA 3x3 World Tour winners as Switzerland's Lugano captured their first-ever WT title with a thrilling 21-20 victory over Miami at the Wynn Palace in Macau. It was a night to remember for the Swiss squad, who battled through adversity and found their hero in Adris De León, the electric veteran who powered them all the way to glory.

Lugano’s Breakthrough Run

Entering Macau as one of the dark horses, Lugano had plenty to prove, and they delivered in style. After going sweeping pool play thanks to a pair of overtime winners on Day One, Lugano turned it up a notch when it mattered most. They defeated Bordeaux in the Quarter-Finals, then held off a hard-charging Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy in the Semi-Finals to reach their first WT Final this year.

De León Delivers in the Final

The Final against Miami lived up to the hype, with both teams trading big plays from the opening tip. Miami’s Mitch Hahn and Henry Caruso led the Americans to an early 11-10 advantage, but De León and Malik Hluchoweckyj flipped the script with a dazzling mix of step-backs and drives that energized the Macau crowd.

Miami last led at 20-17, and with the game seemingly slipping away from Lugano, De León and Westher Molteni stepped up to eventually tie the game at 20-all with under a minute to go. De León then broke free on the baseline and nailed the dagger to seal the triumph, securing Lugano’s historic maiden WT title.

De León finished with 8 points, 4 highlights, and 2 two-pointers, while Hluchoweckyj added 9 points, 2 key assists and 6 highlights in a complete team effort. For Miami, Henry Caruso tallied 11 points and 4 highlights in the losing cause.

MVP Moment

For his clutch heroics and leadership, Adris De León was named Most Valuable Player of WT Macau, receiving his award from Ms. Zoe Zhou, Chief Marketing Officer of Resort Marketing of Wynn Macau Limited and Mr. Wu Chong Fai, President of the Macau China Basketball Association. The Dominican-born guard delivered one of the most electrifying individual performances of the 2025 season and proved that Lugano belong among the World Tour elite.

Side Events: Hahn and 'Grabo' Shine

Even in defeat, Miami’s Mitch Hahn left Macau with more than pride after winning the The Voice Production Limited Shootout Contest. Meanwhile, Poland’s Piotr Marceli 'Grabo' Grabowski wowed fans once again to capture the Starmac Entertainment & Production Limited Dunk Contest crown with his signature aerial artistry.
