MIES (Switzerland) - There's a familiar and positive feel on the podium of the updated FIBA World Ranking Girls, presented by Nike, after leaders USA, Spain and Canada all celebrated success in locking down the top three spots once again.
The all-conquering USA lived to up the hype as usual with an exceptional performance at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2025 in Brno, Czechia. They continued their amazing gold rush by securing a fourth straight crown, their 11th title in total.
USA will also be out to continue their dominance of next year's FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup in the wake of winning more silverware at the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup 2026.
It's also been a fantastic year at youth level for Spain, who retain 2nd spot in the rankings off the back of taking the third place at the U19 Worlds - as well as being crowned champions at both the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2025 and FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2025.
Canada consolidate third position after their rising stars put in some memorable performances. That included reaching the U19 Semi-Finals in Brno, as well as being confirmed runners up at the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup 2025.
Australia are pushing hard to reel in Canada after they moved up one spot into 4th in the rankings, mainly due to the Gems reaching the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2025 Final.
