Anders Mol and Christian Sørum take their third Elite 16 gold of the season while Talita Antunes and Thamela Coradello win their first in the shadow of Table Mountain Olympic and world Champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum made it back-to-back Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 titles as they followed up their win in Paris in September with gold in Cape Town on Sunday. In the women’s event, it was a first Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 title for Brazil’s Talita Antunes and Thamela Coradello in what was their first event on the beach together. Nordic rivals get revenge The Norwegian pairing made it three Elite 16 level wins this season thanks to a straight sets (21-19, 21-19) win over Sweden’s David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig. The two sides last met in the final of the European Championship that saw the Swedes prevail but despite Ahman and Hellvig’s best efforts, Mol and Sorum were too strong. The title in South Africa, which was earned with six wins and no sets dropped, adds something new to Mol and Sørum’s career as, after topping the podium in tournaments held in Europe, Asia, North and South America, they now have a title in Africa too. “Cape Town is amazing,” Sørum said. “We’ve come here on vacation last year and got to see the city, it’s really beautiful. We hope to be back here next year and meet all these incredible fans that were here supporting us this time.” “That was intense, it was one of our best matches this year,” Mol added. “Sweden are such a young and talented team and it’s really annoying to play against them – they’re annoyingly good. The new duo from Brazil completed a fantastic first tournament as partners with a 2-0 (22-20, 21-16) victory over Americans Sarah Sponcil and Terese Cannon in the gold medal match at the Grand Parade. Fellow Brazilians and world champions Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa and Ana Patricia Ramos also made it to the podium as they finished third. The 40-year-old Talita and the 22-year-old Thamela developed immediate chemistry and used their split-blocking strategy to thrive in South Africa. The two dropped only one of their six matches in Cape Town to win the tournament. “I want to thank the fans that came to support us, Talita and Renato (França), our coach, and our entire team,” Thamela said after the gold medal match. “I wouldn’t be here without my family either – they’ve supported me the entire time. The hosts will be well represented at the tournament which runs 9-13 November. Ten teams from the South American nation (six women’s and four men’s) will feature among the 24 teams that will start the tournament directly in the main draw. An additional five duos (three women’s and two men’s) will compete in the qualifiers. It will be the first time that the city of Uberlandia, located just over 400 kms south of the country’s capital Brasilia, hosts an international beach volleyball event, after staging the South American Tour Finals back in May. 一連4站的WTT青少年賽率先於意大利展開，首站賽事港將即有獎牌進帳。小將麥明芯於U13女單連過兩關，雖然在決賽不敵印度Syndrela Das，但仍摘下一面銀牌；至於黃凱彤則於U17女單8強止步，無緣獎牌。 從10月30日起一眾港隊小將一連出戰意大利、匈牙利、斯洛伐克及黎巴嫩4站WTT青少年賽，在率先上演的意大利站，港隊派出5名女將參賽，包括江芷琳、李凱敏、吳詠琳、黃凱彤及麥明芯。 今年9月先後在泰國及格魯吉亞封后的麥明芯今站繼續展現勇態，在小組賽一局不失、3戰全勝下首名晉級。淘汰賽階段首輪輪空直入8強，緊接先後淘汰奧地利及印度殺入決賽。金牌戰面對另一印度球手Syndrela Das，港將連輸兩局5：11、10：12陷於劣勢，第3局以11：8扳回一局，惜第4局再負8：11，最終只能屈居亞軍。 U15方面，在格魯吉亞奪冠的黃凱彤今站在小組賽艱辛下取得兩戰全勝晉級，首圈輪空的她在先後擊敗西班牙及澳洲殺入8強，惜及後0：3（2：11、6：11、6：11）向埃及Hana Goda稱臣，無緣4強。 至於成年隊亦正於斯洛伐克出戰，李漢銘及何鈞傑在男單資格賽次圈止步，林兆恒將與吳柏男上演「港隊內訌」爭取晉級第3圈，關文皓則撼日文田中裕太。女單方面，朱成竹擊敗捷克球手晉級資格賽第3圈，蘇慧音、林依諾及李清韻於次圈止步，周穎詩則在首圈出局。 Information and photo source : HKTTA / WTT

[2022年11月1日，香港] ：香港女子板球隊於於日本大阪一連四日出戰「東亞盃」，賽事受到疫情影響，繼2019年後再次舉辦，今年韓國及中國沒有參賽。 港隊與擁有主場之利的日本交手四場，港隊在首兩戰顯得略勝一籌，兩戰皆由日本先擊球，她們分別擊出90及91分完成上半場，港隊兩場均以少於14回合便成功超分。 隊長陳嘉瑩在首戰勇戰受傷，在餘下三場賽事均未能上陣，由Yasmin Daswani率領球隊繼續作戰。 領先場數2:0後，港隊在第三場讓16歲新秀Georgina Bradley及何情怡上陣，Georgina Bradley取得國際賽上首頂喼帽。港隊是先擊球的一方，港隊今仗火力全開，在只有兩人出局的情況之下取得142分完成上半場。在下半場，日本採取進取的打法，在第19個回合追至137分，只需6分便能夠超分，港隊於最後一個回合派出Mariko Hill投球，讓對手僅取得2分的情況下獲勝，場數領先至3:0，香港隊成功封后。 雖然「東亞盃」冠軍寶座已落入香港隊手上，不過第四戰的戰況是最激烈的。港隊率先擊球，完成20個回合後取得101分。日本的表現越來越好，力戰至最後一球成功追平比分，雙方均取得101分，需要以Super Over分勝負。 Super Over加時賽的規則是每隊輪流擊球及防守一個回合，擊球方只有三名擊球手，而防守方只可派出一位投球手。 日本隊先進行擊球，港隊派出Mariko Hill投球，她們在兩人出局的情況下取得4分。之後香港派出文涓懿及Mariko Hill擊球，她們僅用兩球便擊岀5分，有驚無險以全勝姿態奪得「東亞盃」冠軍。 資料及相片來源 : 香港板球
