Thousands of fans at the East London venue gave victorious Dennis a standing ovation after he repelled the early advances of Drivers’ World Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne to win the race and delight the cheering home crowd. Mercedes-EQ’s Vandoorne was content to play it cool to come home second for a 17th Formula E podium, with his closest championship rivals marooned down the pack. In the Teams' running, Mercedes-EQ stretched to a 37-point lead on DS TECHEETAH. It’s back to ExCeL London tomorrow (Sunday) for Round 14 in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the last stop before Season 8 concludes with Rounds 15 and 16 in Seoul, the first time the all-electric series has visited South Korea. Frede Rasmussen has been crowned 2022 Formula E: Accelerate champion after sealing a dominant double victory and a maximum points-score at the two-round London finale. The Dane, representing TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, stormed to two pole positions, two fastest laps and two race wins on the way to a maximum score in an unstoppable evening’s effort. Jarno Opmeer (Mercedes-EQ) – a two-time F1 Esports champion - gave it absolutely everything he could in the scrap out front, with Erhan Jajovski (DS TECHEETAH) – runner-up in the previous Accelerate campaign – keeping both honest but neither could muster enough to dethrone Rasmussen. Opmeer wound up in second spot in the standings, some 25 points back from Rasmussen, with VISA Vegas eRace winner and five-times Formula SimRacing World Champion Bono Huis third in the table. Rasmussen entered this year’s competition off the back of taking top spot in the inaugural Formula E: Accelerate series in 2021 and as the hot favourite, even among a field of the very best sim racing talent. The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is entering the final stretch with four drivers pulling away from the pack in the Drivers’ World Championship standings and only four races remaining across two double-header weekends. The 2022 SABIC London E-Prix is the first of those two weekends, with Round 13 this Saturday and Round 14 on Sunday at the ExCeL London event venue in the heart of historic Docklands in the east of London. Formula E made its first trip to ExCeL London last season, and in a first for an international race series raced on an indoor/outdoor circuit layout which offered up a completely unique challenge for drivers and teams to get their heads around. Both those races were won by British drivers with Jake Dennis and Mahindra Racing’s former driver Alex Lynn making home advantage count. While only a handful of fans were permitted into the venue last year because of Covid restrictions, this weekend sees full capacity grandstands open to the public for the first time for a Formula E race at ExCeL London. Fans in London are set for a dramatic home race weekend where any one of the top four drivers could take the lead or see their title chances take a big hit before Season 8 concludes in Seoul on 13 and 14 August. Last time out in New York City, Mercedes-EQ’s Stoffel Vandoorne regained the advantage at the top of the Drivers’ World Championship after a mixed set of results across two hotly-contested rounds in the Big Apple. The Belgian turned an 11-point deficit into an 11-point advantage over ROKiT Venturi Racing driver Edoardo Mortara. The Swiss’ struggles opened the door for the rest of the top four, also including Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) and DS TECHEETAH’s Jean-Éric Vergne, to close the gap – but not everybody was able to capitalise, with the Frenchman enduring a particularly tough weekend with no points. The whole top four are still split by fewer points than are on offer in any single Formula E round, and with two races in London followed by a double-header in Seoul still to come, the season may be heading towards its climax but there’s still time for it all to change. Vandoorne's trip to the Big Apple could scarcely have been a better one. The Mercedes-EQ driver followed up a fourth-placed finish on Saturday with a podium and second place on Sunday while those around him in the title fight faltered. There was a clear lead-four heading into the New York City E-Prix double-header, with Mortara topping the pile after securing a podium in Jakarta and a third win of the season in Marrakesh. Mortara struggled to make real inroads in New York, however, after failing to make it through the Groups in qualifying on Saturday, with the ROKiT Venturi driver also slapped with a post-race penalty which saw him demoted from a fighting fifth position to ninth, while Vandoorne came home fourth. On Sunday, a brake-by-wire issue scuppered the ROKiT Venturi driver's qualifying session, leaving him marooned right at the back of the pack for the start of Round 12 and with it all to do again. The best he could manage was to fight to 10th and a single World Championship point with Vandoorne winding up second. 傑志公佈，正式簽入已隨隊訓練近一個月的費蘭度和周緣德，以應付亞冠盃淘汰賽及新一季本地賽事，兩人將會在明日隨隊到南韓集訓。 35歲的費蘭度曾在2015至2020年效力傑志，與傑志創下不少佳績，包括在2016-2017球季助傑志贏得港超聯、銀牌和足總盃，成為「三冠王」，他在當季亦當選香港足球先生。費蘭度在2020年離開傑志之後取得香港護照，並曾為港隊上陣，今次以本地球員身份重返球隊，司職左翼的他會改穿77號球衣。 現時23歲的周緣德曾經在台企甲聯賽上陣，在美國讀大學期間曾出戰NCAA D1賽事，亦曾先後代表過香港U20及香港U23出賽。司職中堅的周緣德將會披上18號球衣為傑志上陣。 傑志將於周二晚赴南韓集訓，費蘭度與周緣德均會隨隊出發。 另外，艾華度因家事而提出離隊，傑志與艾華度同意解約。傑志祝願艾華度生活繼續愉快。 資料及相片來源 : 傑志
