Sat. 16 July 2022 – Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing) took a maiden Formula E race win in the New York City E-Prix, heading home ahead of Lucas di Grassi (ROKiT Venturi Racing) and teammate Robin Frijns as torrential rain deluged the track late in the race, creating the most dramatic finish of the season so far. In the final 10 minutes of the scheduled 45-minute plus one lap race, a storm swept in with heavy rain buffeting the Brooklyn Street Circuit leaving pools of standing water in the braking zone to Turn 6. A Full Course Yellow was called but Cassidy, di Grassi and Vandoorne - as well as Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) - couldn't help but aquaplane straight on and into the wall. More drivers fell foul in impossible conditions as the race was brought to an early conclusion with a Red Flag. Before the rain came, Nick Cassidy had started from Julius Bär Pole Position for the first time this season and led from the front through both ATTACK MODE activations. Di Grassi and Frijns applied pressure from behind as the race headed towards its conclusion with the pair having deposed Vandoorne from second on Lap 27 as the points race twisted and turned. Drivers’ World Championship leader Mortara had also worked his way up to fifth with a late second ATTACK MODE, the Venturi driver having missed out on the Duels in qualifying, starting ninth. The Red Flag meant the race result was decided on countback with finishing positions defined based on the lap prior to the one in which the stoppage was called, as per article 41.9 of the FIA sporting regulations. The ruling meant the race win went the way of an elated Cassidy, with di Grassi and Frijns rounding out the podium. Vandoorne wasn't able to capitalise on his starting grid advantage over Mortara, with the ROKiT Venturi Racing driver coming home in fifth but extending his Drivers' World Championship lead to 13 points over Vandoorne. Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) managed just 11th and Jean-Éric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH) finished 18th, both outside the points. That leaves ROKiT Venturi Racing at the top of the Teams’ World Championship standings, 23 points up on Mercedes-EQ which climbs above DS TECHEETAH. It’s a busy night ahead for engineers in most of the team garages to prepare for Round 12 and the second race in the New York City E-Prix double header tomorrow. The iconic Empire State Building was lit up in Formula E’s distinctive electric blue to mark the fifth year of the New York City E-Prix in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. NICK CASSIDY, ENVISION RACING, #37 said: “It is such a rollercoaster of emotions, I was pretty calm after everything happened (but) obviously very disappointed initially. It felt like I did everything right today, felt like it was in the bag with ten to go, then it started raining. I was initially very disappointed considering that, but - and I know I'm biased - I think it is the right decision. "[When finding out he won] I said in the garage 'are you sure, are you sure?!' It is difficult for me to say too much, but I am super happy with the win and I don't want to talk about the decision making process and all that. But in terms of the race the team did a fantastic job, I had a fantastic car today and I am really pleased especially after last weekend that we could come here and take the win. LUCAS DI GRASSi, ROKiT VENTURI RACING, #11 said: “The crash today was the strongest Formula E crash of my career, one of the strongest crashes I have had in motorsport - it was well over 15g. I am fully bruised, my neck, my hands, my legs - but I'm okay. It just shows when you're not complaining there is nothing you can really do. "I am happy they gave a Red Flag and reversed the result of the race, that was the first thing to do. I am happy with the points, but unhappy the car is in complete pieces and that the mechanics will have to work hard to put the car together tomorrow.” ROBIN FRIJNS, ENVISION RACING, #4 said: “I am okay, I didn't touch the wall. The two guys in front, Nick and Lucas, they went straight in turn 6, they spun basically - I don't know what happened behind me but I was the only one who survived the carnage. "It was very tricky [avoiding the crash]. We are using the tyres for three-quarters of the race, the tread is going down and then the rain comes - you're basically driving with slicks. I braked a bit early, but I didn't see anything because of the spray from Lucas, and then when the spray disappeared I saw Lucas sideways, 45 degrees in front of me. Brazilians Duda and Ana Patricia bring the Copacabana feeling to the Swiss mountains with victory over Barbara and Carol Unbeatable Brazilians Eduarda ‘Duda’ Santos Lisboa and Ana Patricia Silva maintained their hot streak by winning their first Beach Pro Tour Elite title of the season in Gstaad. The newly-crowned World Champions were made to work for their first-placed cowbells one kilometer above sea level in the Swiss Alps, but secured top spot on the podium thanks to a 2-1 (21-19, 20-22, 15-10) win over fellow Brazilians Barbara Seixas and Carolina Solberg Salgado. Having won the world title in Rome, the pair have now won 15 matches in a row, a run which started by winning the third-place match in the Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 tournament in Jurmala, Latvia. For Silva, this title – secured in front of a sell-out crowd in the Swiss sunshine – was the blocker’s first in Gstaad. She said: “We’ve played them many times before and it’s always been very difficult. The teams know each other very well so it takes a battle to win every single point. I’m very happy with what we showed here. We’ve done great things over the past few weeks and it’s been very important for our team and the sequence of our work.” Duda, who has now won back-to-back events at the Swiss mountain venue after triumphing with Agatha Bednarczuk last year, said: “I’m so happy about this victory. It’s our second win as a team and that shows we’re building a strong team, which is very special. I have to thank our club Praia Clube, our coaching staff and Ana for that.” Australian Olympic silver medalists Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho Del Solar secured the third place on the podium winning their first-ever cowbell trophies in the process. The Aussies won a rollercoaster third-place match again Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka in three sets, coming out on top 22-20, 22-24, 15-9. “It’s everyone’s dream to have a cowbell, it’s such a unique and special event,” Del Solar said afterwards. “The semi-final taught us that you can’t take your foot off the pedal but we stayed in there and stayed strong and stuck it out and stuck through it.” Clancy and Del Solar’s next engagement will be the Beach Pro Tour Challenger event in Espinho next week, which runs 14-17 July. 2022-07-11 香港羽毛球隊代表伍家朗於香港時間2022年7月10日（星期日）出戰馬來西亞大師賽男子單打決賽， 面對世界排名45位的印尼球手Chico Aura DWI WARDOYO。這是伍家朗自去年1月的泰國羽毛球公開賽超級1000賽以來，相隔17個月後再次躋身世界羽聯世界巡迴賽的分站決賽。以8號種子身份參賽的伍家朗晉級路途絕不輕易，他先後在8強反勝中華台北球手周天成，其後又在4強反勝印度球手PRANNOY H. Cousins Esteban and Marco win first ever Beach Pro Tour Elite title and secure a coveted Gstaad cowbell with straight sets win over Czech pair Chilean cousins Esteban and Marco Grimalt produced the performance of their careers so far to win the Beach Pro Tour Elite Gstaad, Switzerland. The duo secured their first Beach Pro Tour title and an iconic cowbell trophy with a straight sets (21-19, 22-20) win over Czech Republic’s Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner. It was even sweeter for the South American pair having lost to their European rivals earlier in the event – a favourite of the athletes, 1km above sea level in the Swiss Alps. A victorious Esteban said: “Last year, after the Olympics, Marco did a surgery in his knee. We took a long time to come back. “Now, after a long trip, two-and-a-half months competing in different tournaments, at this, the most beautiful venue in the world, with the best atmosphere, it’s crazy - it’s a dream come true, all the effort. This is not just us. This is our whole team in Chile, and in Chile we are going to celebrate.” In a classic third-place match, Dutch duo Steven van der Velde and Christiaan Varenhorst came from a set down to beat 2016 Olympic champion Bruno Oscar Schmidt and his Brazilian teammate Saymon Barbosa Santos. The South Americans staged a miraculous comeback to take the first set but the Netherlands pair came up with the goods in the second and decider to secure third spot on the podium. Defender Van der Velde said: “Sadly I’m used to losing the semis so far, but in the end, we are just so happy to get a medal. You don’t get that many, so I am really enjoying it. “We had to work really hard, it was a really tough game, and we’re happy to bring a cowbell home. I haven’t won that many yet. This is for sure a really sweet one. It’s really nice to fight that hard and get that win.” Super Sunday to decide women’s title The battle to win the coveted cowbells continues on Sunday as the curtain comes down on the women’s event. 香港十五人欖球隊大軍準備就緒 力爭衛冕亞錦賽 [2022年7月8日，香港]: 香港男子十五人欖球代表隊將於7月9日（星期六）下午5時（香港時間下午4時）在南韓仁川南洞欖球體育館（Namdong Asiad Rugby Stadium）出戰「亞洲欖球錦標賽」決賽暨「十五人欖球世界盃2023」亞洲區外圍賽。冠軍將晉級對陣湯加，爭奪法國世界盃入場券。 香港超級欖球聯賽球星夏斯迪（Josh Hrstich） 將擔任隊長，與兩位副隊長，包括後排前鋒根寧咸（James Cunningham）和首次穿上港隊戰衣的曉士（Glyn Hughes）一起帶領球隊對陣南韓。 最近在英國的牛津劍橋欖球對抗賽中被選為最有價值球員的普斯（Alexander Post）將聯同夏斯迪、根寧咸和占士梳亞（James Sawyer）這三位剛在英國和葡萄牙完成兩個月七欖訓練營的球員，一起出戰亞錦賽。 其他列陣的球員包括前鋒所羅蒙拿（Faisal Solomona）和艾迪（Ashton Hyde）、鎖鋒馬克派俄（Mark Prior）和柏迪贊堅臣（Patrick Jenkinson），後備席的球員包括蘇利雲（Kyle Sullivan）和南華虎球星雲達史密（Luke van der Smith）等經驗豐富的球員。 當家射手曉士與最近也從七欖訓練營回歸的傳接鋒拜恩菲立斯（Bryn Phillips）拍檔，加上新加入港隊的球員曉湯姆（Tom Hill）和賓布蘭（Ben Axten Burrett ）一起守住中場。 前青少年隊球星（Matt Worley）將在這場比賽擔任其中一側翼鋒，另一側是身型高大的希臣史密夫（Charles Higson-Smith），而七欖球星利維尼（Jack Neville）則擔任後衛。麥尼殊（Gregor McNeish）和甘比斯（Jack Combes）兩位將在後場為港隊提供更多深度。 亞錦賽因疫情影響而多次延期，主帥伊雲斯（Lewis Evans）相信港隊已準備就緒，迎戰南韓。 出戰 2022 亞洲欖球錦標賽之香港男子十五人欖球代表隊名單： 1.Faisal SOLOMONA 2.
