Sat. 30 April 2022 – Stoffel Vandoorne mastered the streets of Monte Carlo with a tactical drive to win the 2022 Monaco E-Prix Round 6 for Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team and take the ABB FIA Formula E Drivers' World Championship lead. The Belgian beat polesitter Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) to the top step, while DS TECHEETAH's Jean-Éric Vergne came home third in front of more than 15,000 fans at the iconic home of motorsport. Vandoorne emerged on the right side of a mid-race full course yellow and safety car which threw race strategies up in the air with the Belgian besting Evans after a race-long battle with the help of some measured energy management. Vandoorne had hit the front after then-leader Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) retired from the lead with technical issues on Lap 16. Once at the head of the pack, Vandoorne seized control and made good on both restarts to take the chequered flag first with race pace and energy in-hand. Evans couldn't quite capitalise on the searing pace that saw him fly to Julius Baer Pole Position but 18 points and second spot after a Rome win-double sees the Jaguar driver's hot-streak continue. Vergne followed in third, sparring for the race distance with those ahead and fending off the late attentions of Envision Racing's Robin Frijns who came home fourth, the Dutchman extending his consistent run of form. That made it a joint-high of three podiums for Frenchman Vergne and he remains the only driver to score points in every race this season. Antonio Felix da Costa made it two DS TECHEETAHs in the top five, with Lucas di Grassi coming home sixth for a solid haul on home soil for ROKiT Venturi Racing - though Edoardo Mortara retired late on having run much of the race alongside his teammate in the points. Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing) finished seventh, with Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams), Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti) and reigning champion Nyck de Vries rounding out the top 10. All that left Vandoorne six points clear atop the Drivers' standings, and Mercedes-EQ 15 points ahead of DS TECHEETAH in the Teams' running. Next stop in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a double-header E-Prix in Berlin on 14 and 15 May for Rounds 7 and 8 and marks the midpoint of Season 8. I really wanted to win today off the back of pole and the wins for us at the last race, but Stoffel and the other guys were really quick. So I will take these good points and move on for the next race." [2022年4月28日，杜拜] ：香港女子板球隊在杜拜出戰「SkyExchange.net Women’s T20i Bilateral Series」，一連四日的賽事於今天展開，擲毫儀式於當地晚上六時半進行，香港隊勝出擲毫並選擇先擊球。 這次是港隊史無前例首度於晚上作賽，對於球隊上下也是一大挑戰。港隊甫開賽表現並不理想，首兩個回合已有兩名擊球手接連出局。幸好第四位出場的擊球手隊長陳嘉瑩能及時調整，她夥拍開場手Mariko Hill，打出一段98分的攻勢，她們合共擊出10球四分。最終陳嘉瑩取得45分，而Mariko亦得到34分。擊球手們把握大部份跑分機會，加上阿聯酋隊的投球失誤，香港隊以118分完成上半場。 下半場香港隊以兩名旋轉球手開場，陳嘉瑩及陳嘉敏拍檔下，於第二回合便令第一個擊球手出局。可惜其後出場的速度投球手，表現未如理想，導致被對手連連得分。即使其後再更換其他投球手，各個球員飛撲截球，亦未能阻止擊球手得分。阿聯酋隊盡享主場之利，在熟悉的天氣與球場下，於16回合便追贏分數。期望香港隊能汲取今天的教訓，去調整心態與策略，贏得接下來的比賽。 陳嘉瑩賽後說：「球隊在第一戰失利，但我們有信心在明天的賽事中可以調整，並希望能夠扳回一城。」 明晚香港時間11時將進行第二戰。 資料及相片來源 ︰ 香港板球

Monday 25 April 2022 - The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship visits Monaco, the most iconic street circuit in motorsport, on the glamourous French Riviera for Round 6 of the season this Saturday. It’s the fifth time in eight seasons that Monaco has featured in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, with dozens of overtakes on the historic Circuit de Monaco’s turns and vistas a hallmark of previous races. The field of 11 teams and 22 drivers will once again race from Sainte-Dévote, up the hill, through Casino square, round the Grand Hotel Hairpin and through the inimitable Monaco tunnel ahead of the Nouvelle chicane, this year in its traditional configuration. DS TECHEETAH’s Antonio Felix Da Costa claimed victory last season in an absolute classic, undoubtedly one of the most exciting races in the history of Formula E, capping a first outing on the full Monaco circuit with an audacious overtake at the exit of the tunnel on the final lap of the race for the win. The race saw 28 overtakes between the top six runners alone, with the lead changing six times. The 2021 track incorporated a modified chicane at the T11, which will disappear this year to make way for the track design to revert to that of the traditional Circuit de Monaco. As it stands Jean-Éric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH) tops the pile in the Drivers’ World Championship on the way to Monaco, following a strong weekend in Rome, finished off in style with second place in Round 5 and silverware. The Frenchman is Formula E’s only double champion and the only driver this season to have scored points in every race so far. Although he left Rome claiming he could and should have had more out of the double-header in the Italian capital, he has to be happy at the start he’s made to Season 8. Vergne was a winner in the Principality back in 2019, and he will be hoping his record on the Monegasque streets helps him steal a march on the tightly-bunched pack heading into the second half of the campaign. Just two points back is Envision Racing’s Robin Frijns. The Dutchman has three podiums under his belt – more than any other driver – and he’s been as quick as any in the opening rounds of this season. Stoffel Vandoorne is another two points adrift of Frijns in third as it stands, with Mercedes-EQ the Teams’ World Championship leaders, though reigning champion Nyck de Vries hasn’t had it all his own way early on with the Dutchman winning the opening race in Diriyah but managing a best of just sixth position since. Jaguar TCS Racing enjoyed an unparalleled weekend in Rome last time out with a win-double for Mitch Evans firing the Kiwi right up to fourth and within touching distance of the top of the standings. He missed out on the final lap to da Costa last year in Monaco but proved in Rome he has the pace to go one better this time around. Edo Mortara sits sixth for home squad, Monegasque outfit ROKiT Venturi Racing, which recently announced it’s to partner with Maserati from 2022/23. TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team couldn’t quite mirror its Mexico City glory in Rome. Nevertheless, André Lotterer and Pascal Wehrlein sit a strong sixth and seventh in the running with Porsche second only to Mercedes-EQ in the Teams’ contest. [2022年4月12日，香港]: 由於持續的社區防疫措施影響著球員作賽的安全，香港欖球總會（欖總）無奈地決定讓香港男子十五人欖球代表隊退出5月28日至6月6日在南韓舉行的「亞洲欖球錦標賽」，比賽同樣是「十五人欖球世界盃2023」外圍賽。因此，退賽的決定亦即表示港隊將失去進軍世界盃的機會。 這是繼今年一月，欖總宣布香港女子十五人欖球代表隊放棄出戰世界盃外圍賽後的另一場退賽。 欖總曾與主辦單位亞洲欖球總會（Asia Rugby）以及其他參賽的欖球總會連番討論，要求進一步更改或延遲與馬來西亞和南韓進行「男子三角賽」的日期，可惜，要求已被拒絕。 隨著比賽日期迫近眉睫，加上缺乏備戰時間，繼續參賽將增加球員的安全風險。 根據現時的防疫限制，本地運動處所和社交距離措拖需維持至4月21日，對於欖總的精英十五人欖球運動員來說，他們自一月起便無法訓練，亦有四個多月沒有參加任何比賽，短短的數週是不足為比賽備戰。 另外，防疫措施亦有可能在4月21日後繼續生效，這個考慮限制了欖總在五天內安全地籌辦兩場國際測試賽的能力。如球隊因倉猝備戰而令球員受傷或威脅到球員的安全，欖總認為絕不可接受，因此最終決定退賽。 港隊原本以衛冕冠軍的身份出戰「亞洲欖球錦標賽」，可想而知今次的退出將為比賽帶來重大影響，但欖總不會以球員的福祉作賭注。 對於欖總的精英欖球員、教練、工作人員和支持者來說，退賽是一個非常令人失望的結果，加上早前香港女子十五人欖球代表隊亦宣布被迫放棄出戰「女子十五人欖球世界盃2021 」外圍賽，連續放棄兩個出戰世界盃的機會令香港欖球界進軍世界盃的希望提早落空。 欖總已竭盡全力確保球員們能夠安全地參加「亞洲欖球錦標賽」，欖總感謝所有男子港隊成員和工作人員在過去一年堅持不懈的投入和耐性。 Information and photo source : Elite Step Asia / HKRU
