First-ever motorsport-focused session at SXSW to be presented by ABB FIA Formula E World Championship The first US driver in the Championship, Oliver Askew of Avalanche Andretti Formula E, and Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, James Barclay, to speak on the panel ‘No Turning Back: Formula E and the Electric Future’ session is part of the new Transportation track at SXSW AUSTIN, TX, USA & LONDON, UK. Friday 18 February 2022 – Formula E will host the first-ever motorsports-focused session at SXSW, the annual festival and conference event for the creative industries in Austin, Texas, on Thursday 17 March. Avalanche Andretti Formula E team driver Oliver Askew, who this season became the first American driver in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, will be a speaker in the session entitled ‘No Turning Back: Formula E and the Electric Future.’ Askew will be joined by James Barclay, who has been Team Principal of Jaguar TCS Racing since 2015. Barclay oversees Jaguar’s global motorsport initiatives as Jaguar is reimagined as an all-electric luxury brand from 2025. He was recently appointed to the newly-created leadership position of Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport. Also appearing on the panel will be Stephanie Medeiros, Global Emobility Executive at ABB, the title partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Based in Canada, Medeiros has more than 14 years of engineering and leadership experience and works on the largest global electric charging infrastructure deployments. The panel will be chaired by Hannah Brown, Chief of Staff at Formula E and a member of the Leaders in Sport ‘Leaders Under 40 Class of 2021’ and Henry Chilcott, Chief Marketing Officer, Formula E. The full description of the ‘No Turning Back: Formula E and the Electric Future’ panel session at the SXSW Transportation track on the afternoon of Thursday 17 March is: Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is underway with 11 teams and 22 drivers racing on the streets of iconic cities around the world including New York, London, Monaco, Vancouver, Diriyah and Seoul with more fans tuning in to watch live races on TV and across digital platforms than ever before. In the race to fight climate change, there is no turning back from the promise offered by the adoption of electric mobility and Formula E is accelerating this transition in transport. In Season 9 Formula E will debut its Gen3 car described as: “a machine created at the intersection of high performance, efficiency and sustainability.” The Gen3 will be the world’s most efficient racing car, a creature designed for its habitat: racing on city streets in wheel-to-wheel combat. The Gen3 will be net-zero carbon, maintaining the championship’s status as the first sport to be certified as net-zero carbon since inception. Askew, a Florida native, began karting at the age of eight and moved up both the American and European ranks before making the jump to cars in 2015. After winning the Team USA Scholarship in 2016, Askew climbed the Road to Indy ladder, winning the USF 2000 Championship in 2017. With his championship scholarship, Askew moved into the Indy Pro 2000 Championship quickly followed by another step up joining Andretti Autosport’s Indy Lights team in 2019. He claimed seven wins, seven poles and 15 podiums on his way to win the 2019 Indy Lights Championship with Andretti. Askew made his IndyCar debut in 2020 competing in 12 races and scoring one podium. Most recently, the young American recorded starts in both IndyCar and IMSA, sealing a win, five top-five finishes, and six top-10 finishes throughout his time on track in 2021. The Asian Le Mans Series Continues in Yas Marina this weekend! After two intense races at the Dubai Autodrome Circuit last weekend, the Asian Le Mans Series makes its way to the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi this weekend. Champions will be crowned and invitations to the 24 Hours of Le Mans will awarded. This weekend United Autosports will return to the Series in LMP2. The reigning LMP3 Champions will race an LMP2 for the two races in Abu Dhabi with their young star in the making, Josh Pierson. Josh turned 16, the minimum age permitted in the Asian Le Mans Series on Monday, so he is now able to join us at the Yas Marina Circuit. Rodrigo Sales led the field away and asserted the dominance of the #4 Nielsen Racing Oreca 07 Gibson once more. Despite several issues, and visits to the pits for the lead LMP2, Sales, Matt Bell and Ben Hanley were able to take away victory and make it two from two for the 2022 season. Able to put a messy pit stop behind them, Dennis Andersen, Anders Fjordbach and Kevin Weeda drove a considered race to put the #49 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson into second place in LMP2, and take class honours in LMP2 Am. The #39 Graff Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of David Droux, Eric Trouillet, and Sebastien Page was able to recover from recurring issues with their illuminated numbers and take third in LMP2 and second in LMP2 Am, while a strong start for ARC Bratislava saw Miro Konopka jump to second place in the #44 Ligier JS P217, and after strong effort from Neale Muston and John Corbett, the Slovakian team finished the race third in LMP2 AM. Once again it was heartbreak for the #2 DKR Engineering Duqueine M30 D08 Nissan of Laurents Horr, Sebastian Alvarez and Mathieu de Barbuat . The outfit started from LMP3 pole position and led the race, before a number of visits to the pits and failures ended their race prematurely. The #8 Nielsen Racing Ligier JS P320 rounded out a successful weekend for the English team with class honours in LMP3, despite a late race 10s stop and go penalty for insufficient pit stop time, which added to the incredible record former class champions Colin Noble and Tony Wells have in the Asian Le Mans Series. Spanish outfit CD Sport completed the podium positions with #27 CD Sport Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Christophe Cresp, Antoine Doquin and Steven Palette in second and Michael Jensen, Nick Adcock, and Edouard Cauhaupe’s #3 CD Sport Ligier JS P320 – Nissan in third. A strong start from Hubert Haupt in the #6 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes AMG GT3 saw the German move up two positions and take the lead at race start, but a charge from Conrad Grunewald in the #17 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 take position. A dominant performance by Grunewald, Louis Prette and Vincent Avril looked to be certain victory before a drive through penalty for abusing track limits in the dying minutes of the race handed the win to a strong #55 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Rino Mastronardi, David Perel and Davide Rigon. 4 Hours of Dubai Race 1 victors, #7 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 of Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy and Ben Barnicoat finished second place in GT, ahead of the #17 AF Corse, who held onto to round out the class honours. The #42 Optimum Motorsport Mclaren 720S GT3 of Nick Moss, Andrew Watson and Joe Osborne were able to recover from contact which had dropped them to 19th, to finish fourth in GT. It wasn’t as positive a race for everyone, as track limit abuse plagued many, with #96 Attempto Racing pinged twice, along with #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport and the #6 HRT. The #51 AF Corse served a drive through after making contact with #59 Garage 59 of James Vowles, as did the #91 Herberth Motorsport after contact with the #6 HRT. SPS Automotive Performance made it back-to-back victories in GT Am, which saw Valentin Pierburg, Ian Loggie and Mikael Grenier put the #20 Mercedes AMG GT3 on the top of the podium once again. Pole sitters #57 Kessel Racing trio Roman Ziemian, Francesco Zollo and Axcil Jefferies finished second, ahead of Jurgen Haring, Tim Muller and Marco Seefried in the #99 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3. First-ever win for TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team in ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Pascal Wehrlein victorius from Julius Baer Pole Position with teammate André Lotterer completing the historic one-two for Porsche Jean-Éric Vergne earns podium position for DS TECHEETAH MEXICO CITY. Saturday 12 February 2022 – Pascal Wehrlein led home André Lotterer in a historic one-two for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team in Mexico City, with the pair finishing nine seconds clear of the pack, and both driver and team sealing maiden victories in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Porsche executed the perfect race, with Wehrlein leading from Julius Baer Pole Position and fending off standings leader Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) early on. The pair did drop into the pack behind the Swiss-Italian and Jean-Éric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH) for a brief period but gained a mighty energy advantage on the rest while still matching the leaders’ pace. Into the final 15 minutes, Wehrlein and Lotterer picked their moment and dispatched Vergne and then Mortara for the lead, and from there, the Stuttgart manufacturer dictated in both pace and energy management. By the chequered flag, Wehrlein and Lotterer had nine seconds in-hand on the rest and were able to soak in the adulations of the tens of thousands of fans packing the famous Foro Sol stadium as they toured to the finish line - more than making amends for the heartbreak in Puebla last season. Vergne was able to bring the DS TECHEETAH home in third, with teammate da Costa battling to fourth after a number of skirmishes. Mortara did enough to retain the Drivers’ World Championship lead with fifth - the Venturi more marginal on energy than the Porsches and DS’ as the race wore on. Reigning champion Nyck de Vries (Mercedes-EQ) scrapped to sixth, a second ahead of Envision Racing’s Robin Frijns. Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams) showed a stronger turn this time out to take eighth and points, just ahead of teammate Maximilian Guenther and Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti). Mortara heads the Drivers’ standings by five points over de Vries, with Wehrlein jumping to third with the Round 3 race win. The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues with Rounds 4 and 5 in Rome, Italy, on 9 and 10 April. "It has been a tough weekend for me - I had food poisoning yesterday - and I did not feel very well today. But congratulations to the Porsche boys, they did an amazing race, the last time I did a 1-2 was with Andre, so well done to Porsche. A perfect mix of long, fast straights and a technical infield section that passes right through the legendary Foro Sol stadium – packed with 40,000 fans creating Mexico City’s distinctive vibrant atmosphere - the long-standing host circuit is known for producing intense races and high drama. Fresh from a third placed finish in Round 2 and a strong opening weekend for his new team, ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Lucas di Grassi is one to watch in Mexico. The Brazilian has made two trips to the top step in Mexico City, most recently in Season 5 after his first win in front of the Foro Sol two seasons earlier. Teammate Edo Mortara is looking to continue his fine opening weekend form and stay at the top of the drivers’ standings after winning the second of two races in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Mortara’s win followed reigning World Champion Nyck de Vries’ victory in Round 1, as Mercedes-EQ immediately got to grips with the all-new Duels qualifying format. De Vries and teammate Stoffel Vandoorne threw down the gauntlet with a formidable one-two finish in the opening race of the seaon. The German manufacturer sits just a point behind its ‘customer’ outfit in the Teams’ World Championship ahead of the trip to Mexico, with Mercedes power currently the benchmark. The competition is as close as it has ever been in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Avalanche Andretti’s Jake Dennis and Envision Racing’s Robin Frijns have got their hands on silverware already this season and look to have the pace to mix it in the race for top spot. TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team and Jaguar TCS Racing also showed glimpses of pace, with fourth for Andre Lotterer and Sam Bird the best they could muster. There’s more to come from both, with Porsche’s race pace improving over the Diriyah weekend, and Jaguar having a strong record in Mexico City, with Mitch Evans winning the last time the series raced there. 【2022年2月9日】Red Bull運動員何柱霆(Timothy Ho)在2021世界跳繩錦標賽獲得總成績第6名，在30秒速度繩項目，更以個人最佳成績的105下取得第4名。 由於疫情關係2021世界跳繩錦標賽採用網上比賽形式，參賽選手在去年8月中呈交比賽影片，賽會於上周製作成直播網上節目公布比賽成績。Timothy在30秒速度繩項目，以個人最佳成績的105下取得第4名，至於3分鐘速度繩則以527下得第4名，花式賽則以第9名完成，總成績位列第6名。由於賽會在計算個人總成績上，花式賽成績佔較高比重，所以，另一港隊代表劉盼晞以花式賽第5名、30秒速度繩第8名(102下)、3分鐘速度繩第3名(528下)獲得總成績第2名。總成績冠軍由中國的段中飛獲得，季軍為日本的竹村貫Takemura Kan。香港的另一位代表張柏鴻在花式賽獲得冠軍。 這次世界賽是拍片形式，選手可以無限次拍攝，最後呈上最佳成績的一段影片，比賽壓力比實體比賽小。不過，何柱霆因為傷患影響，顧及日後職業生涯，因此未有作過多的嘗試。賽會收集各參賽者的比賽片段後，在上周製作了網上直播節目，何柱霆亦有在電腦旁觀看。他表示：「由於賽會同時播放各選手的速度繩片段，仿如大家同時比賽，直至比賽結果揭曉，所以心情也十分緊張。」對於比賽成績何柱霆並不滿意。他表示：「由於賽前扭傷足踝，影響發揮，所以在拍攝3分鐘速度繩及花式賽時未能做出最佳表現，幸而在30秒賽事仍能平了自己的個人最佳紀錄，希望休息過後可以走更遠的路。」 觀賞2021世界跳繩錦標賽比賽片段： https://results.ijru.sport/....../cc7LbpwsDh/eventType https://www.youtube.com/playlist...... 何柱霆簡介 畢業於香港專業教育學院(運動教練學高級文憑)。因為羽毛球的體能訓練而初次接觸跳繩，在小學二年級時，被老師挑選成為跳繩班成員。隨著多年練習，在小學五年級奪得香港跳繩分齡賽十一歲或以下男子組個人總冠軍。何柱霆12歲時第一次代表中國香港跳繩總會(繩總)參加亞洲跳繩比賽，並於該次比賽中奪得男子初級組團體總成績冠軍。每位運動員均有成功與失敗的時候。2009年，出戰亞洲跳繩錦標賽個人賽時，因為過份緊張，柱霆只能做出平常練習的七成水準，使排名不在預期，當天更一度哭了超過4個小時。但當年慘敗的經歷使柱霆成長，明白比賽中失敗了並不可怕，最重要是站起來，重新振作起來才有機會再次超越自己。柱霆從失敗中學習，令他成為兩屆的世界冠軍。 資料及相片來源 : N Square / Red Bull HK
