[2021年12月29日，香港]: 香港欖球總會（欖總）宣布歷史悠久的「元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽」將載譽歸來，於2022年1月1日在香港足球會為本地球迷帶來2022年的第一場欖球賽事。 從六十年代後期舉辦第一場青少年欖球比賽和1971/72賽季的男子19歲以下Middlesex 盃演變而來，此項年度的本地青少年欖球盛事已擴展至涵蓋12歲以下至19歲以下男女組別的賽事，也標誌著香港學界、青少年和小型欖球一直穩步發展。 欖總主席唐諾生（Patrick Donovan）表示：「這項一年一度的『元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽』的熱鬧程度僅次於『國泰航空/滙豐香港國際七人欖球賽』，香港球迷每年都藉此聚首一堂，慶祝新一年的來臨。在這個充滿挑戰性的時期，家人和隊友更顯珍貴和重要，欖總很高興這項歷史悠久的賽事能夠在2022年載譽歸來。」 2021年的賽事因疫情關係而被取消，亦由於持續的旅遊限制令賽事未能以香港對戰海外學子的傳統形式上演，今屆的賽事將以一個較簡單的形式舉行。 今屆賽事的賽程較往年精簡，形式亦由傳統的香港與海外欖球好手對戰改為由本地的英基學校協會學生對戰香港青少年欖球會精英。 對於那些通宵慶祝新一年來臨的欖球迷來說，今屆的開賽時間更為理想。揭幕戰將於下午12時半舉行，先由女子16歲以下組別爭奪Naylor 盃。 緊接其後是下午1時50分舉行的George White 盃，由男子16歲以下欖球隊伍共同爭奪。這是香港第二悠久的年度青少年欖球比賽，成立於1972/73 賽季，並以前欖總主席George White 中校命名，以表揚他對香港學界欖球的貢獻。 George White 因對欖球的貢獻而備受尊敬，因此香港足球會的欖球部向他頒發了一個特別的獎盃以表讚揚。值得一提的是，George White 在卸任欖總主席一職後，他將獎盃捐贈並以此作為同名比賽的銀器，至今仍然以他的名義作賽。 下午3時10分是由女子19歲以下的欖球好手上演Lassies Quaich 盃賽。 最後一場比賽是下午4時40分，由男子19歲以下組別爭奪的Wright-Naylor Middlesex 盃。此盃賽於1971/72賽季首次舉行，成為欖總歷史最悠久的年度青少年比賽，也是奠下至今仍在延續的香港大戰海外隊伍的傳統格局。 元旦日的最後一個獎項「最佳及最公平球員」Larry Abel 獎將於下午5時55分頒發。這個獎項以在1994年去世的前欖總青少年欖球總監Larry Abel命名，他致力發展青少年欖球，特別是小型欖球，成就有目共睹。Larry Abel獎首設於1995年「元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽」，當日共吸引超過3,000人到場支持，並懷念他對欖球界的貢獻。時至今日，獲得此項榮譽的球員將被視為欖球界的明日之星。 「元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽2022」獲得滴露、英基學校協會、First Point、啟勵扶青會 和康樂及文化事務署的支持。入場費全免，觀眾可由香港賽馬會博物館入口進場。 Information source : Elite Step Asia / HKRU

(香港，2021年12月15日) 西甲與HK Football Academy Association Limited共同宣布成立首間香港西甲足球學校，將會把西甲基層訓練系統帶給本地6至18歲的青年球員，計劃會至2024/25球季結束。 這次合作由兩位香港退役球員，現任教練陳志康先生及郭嘉諾先生牽頭，他們將與來自西甲的技術總監合作，技術總監將會於體育事務、教練培訓及引入西甲訓練系統各方面作支持。 西班牙甲級聯賽國際代表(香港分部) Eduard Castell表示：「對這次計劃能夠落實我們非常高興，希望為香港基層足球發展帶來幫助。透過西甲訓練系統，以及涵蓋運動及心理輔助等球員所需內容的綜合性訓練，力求展現我們對提升香港以及基層足球的決心。」 這次合作是繼與中華人民共和國教育部的合作計劃、與新加坡政府合作的基層足球發展計劃、印尼的永久足球學院，以及於越南的西甲足球學校和西界學阮計劃後，西甲在亞洲地區的又一個項目。 西甲基層足球技術及運動事務經理 Juan Florit說：「基層足球在亞洲地區的發展有很大潛力。在西甲基層訓練中，我們希望將自己的經濟及訓練系統帶到如香港這次的合作中。我們期望綜合性的訓練可以為本地球員以及教練的成長，有正面的提升作用。」 這次合作中有不同計劃，除了提升球員運動表現，還會與本地機構合作，透過運動宣揚一體化及健康的生活模式。 香港西甲足球學校總監Cral Sir陳志康指出：「90年代時，香港是亞洲足球的中心，無奈近年水平下滑，足球彷彿變成了一項『康樂活動』。我們希望透過香港西甲足球學校，為大家家提供全新的足球體驗。」 他續道：「有穩定的場地，以及西甲系統帶來具質素的訓練內容，有趣的學習環境，完成培訓的教練以及管理人員，令我們有能力由基層開始逐步改變足球。我們相信西班牙式的系統非常適合香港人的身體質素特點。」 香港西甲足球學校的主場館位於紅磡漆咸道北272號，結好中心4樓，為本地青少年進行足球基礎訓練提供優良環境。場地的四周圍有軟墊，確保學員的安全。 感謝這次的合作，西甲會托展在香港的策劃，結合品牌推廣，與本地學院開展合作，以不同計劃支持香港足球發展。 資料及相片來源 : 香港西甲足球學校
