  • 亞洲勒芒系列賽第三回合 一颷賽車WIN Motorsport勇奪武里南6小時耐力賽LMP3組別季軍

  • All Malaysian line up wins in Asian Le Mans Series

    Historic result at the first ever 6 hour race in the Asian Le Mans Series Class Winners: LMP2: #7 Jackie Chan DC Racing X JOTA Sport Oreca 05 LMP3: #18 KCMG Motorsport Ligier JS P3 GT: #91 FIST Team AAI GT3 BMW M6 GT3 GT Cup: #77 Team NZ Porsche 997 GT3 In their debut in the Asian Le Mans Series, the all-Malaysian line up in the #7 Jackie Chan DC Racing x JOTA Sport Oreca 05 Nissan has claimed a hard-fought victory in 6 Hours of Buriram. Round 3 saw Jazeman Jaafar, Weiron Tan and Afiq Ikhwan Yazid debut in the Series with the support of the Sepang International Circuit. They were pushed hard throughout the whole race by their teammates in the #8 Oreca, before claiming the first ever all-Malaysian victory in the Asian Le Mans Series. In LMP3, it was the #18 KCMG Motorsport Ligier JS P3 that returned to the top step of the podium. The Class was saw one of the closest battles seen with every entry holding a top two position – on merit – at one point during the race. Ultimately it was the #11 Taiwan Beer GH Motorsport Ligier JS P3 that came home second with the #1 WIN Motorsport Ligier JS P3 finishing 3rd. After just 0.001 separated the top two in qualifying the stage was set for an epic fight for the GT Class victory and the race delivered. There was a three-way battle between the Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia by TSRT Audi R8 LMS, and the Ferrari 488 GT3 and BMW M6 GT3 from FIST Team AAI. Accident damaged curtailed the Ferrari’s race, leaving the Audi and the BMW to continue trading places for much of the race, with the BMW coming out on top. This is the third round of the 2017/18 Asian Le Mans Series was held on Children’s Day in Thailand, and the track was full of family’s keen to check out the excitement of the 6 Hours of Buriram. An audience of close to 20,000 filled the grandstands, with approximately 200,000 family members filling the circuit precinct to celebrate Children's Day. They were not disappointed by the on track action, with battles occurring up and down the field throughout the whole 6 hours. As this race is a 6 Hour race, two hours longer than the standard Asian Le Mans Series race, the teams were permitted to use additional Michelin tyres – one extra set for prototype entries and two extra sets for the GT entries to allow for the extra two hours racing.   • 「畢馬威女子欖球超級聯賽」 雞糊終止華利51場不敗走勢

    [2018年1月15日,香港]:ECO雞糊鷹隊(雞糊)週六在香港仔運動場以22-15勇挫「畢馬威女子欖球超級聯賽」衛冕盟主法興銀行華利女子欖球會(華利), 更連消帶打將對方的51場不敗金身一舉撃破。 雞糊受惠於這勝利而進佔榜首(16分), 較次位的華利多1分, 令餘下只有兩週的賽季風起雲湧。 Borelli Walsh三軍會猛虎欖球會(猛虎)在同日另一場賽事以44-12輕取Natixis香港足球會(港會) , 前者暫時位列積分榜第三位。 「畢馬威女子欖球超級聯賽發展組別」的賽果包括SCAA第一太平銅鑼灣鳳凰欖球會(鳳凰)力克九龍欖球會(九龍) [24-10], 而Transact 24 大埔龍女子欖球隊(大埔龍) 降服了康維他城市星光隊(城市欖球會)[ 47-0] 。 雞糊主帥黎耀鵬在大戰前夕曾表示「悠長假期後遺症」可能是勝負分野, 雞糊全場拼命的防守和完場次兩度達陣, 將12-15的落後劣勢化為勝利。 黎氏對於上季聯賽和總決賽3次只能屈居華利之後耿耿於懷, 如今撃敗宿敵總算釋懷不少, 他道: 「這實在是太美妙了而且我們的防務很出色。防守是今仗的致勝關鍵, 我軍並且能全場賽事保持高度集中, 今仗前鋒線和後衛線各達陣兩次, 證明了團隊精神的力量。」 華利以全攻型開局並由莎維治(Aroha Savage) 迅速達陣, 連同蘇兒史密夫(Zoe Smith)的附加罰球合力為母會取得 7-0的優勢。華利並沒有發軟手腳進攻, 幸好雞糊將士用命下兩度在達陣線上阻止對方得手, 彷似幸運之神挑好了眷顧對象。 港將鄭家慈在這場「世界盃」傷癒復出的聯賽首戰取得達陣, 隊友梅婭(Greer Muir) 之後高速狂奔40米兼沿途擺脫兩名守衛而達陣, 二人助雞糊反先至12-7。 傳統勁旅華利並非省油的燈, 球員兼教練美露(Bella Milo)下半場早段的達陣追成12-12平手, 其後蘇兒史密夫的一記妙絕落踢射門將比分改寫至15-12。 落後的雞糊屋漏兼逢夜雨, 黃家妍在70分鐘領黃令形勢惡化, 但鬥志十足的雞糊不甘受辱, 憑潘柏茵和陳嘉欣的達陣, 完成戲劇性反勝。 黎氏叮囑球員不應因這重大勝利而沖昏頭腦, 他說: 「我們要小心應付每場賽事, 假若我們能保持今仗水準便有機會問鼎冠軍, 所以現在不能有絲毫鬆懈。」「無可否認這勝利增強我軍不少信心, 我們如能再次有這樣水準的防守, 也有機會再次戰勝有美露和莎維治般猛將坐鎮的華利。」 「我也是頭一趟看到這班女孩子如此歡天喜地的模樣, 她們打出代表作, 所以勝利是實至名歸。」 美露表示: 「勝利是屬於表現更好的雞糊, 她們總是比我們搶佔先機, 我們現在唯一可做的是埋頭苦幹和重整軍容, 為下場爭勝好好部署。」 縱使跨三季的全勝紀錄告一段落, 但美露並不認為這是世界未日並向列強告誡道: 「連勝紀錄總有完結的時辰, 現在終止總比發生在總決賽好。 今次的挫敗當然令人失望, 但相信只會令我們以更強姿態重新出發。」 資料及相片來源 : Elite Step Asia / HKRU

  • 美國職業棍網球員Kyle Harrison主持訓練營 訓練香港代表隊基本技術備戰世界盃

    2018年1月14日 ─ 為慶祝香港棍網球總會成立25周年打響頭炮,美國職業棍網球聯賽All-Star、效力Ohio Machine的Kyle Harrison本周末(1月12至14日)獲邀訪港,出席為期3天的訓練營,指導香港男、女子代表隊以及本地青少年球員。 周五(1月12日)抵港的Kyle,一連3天為本港棍網球界不同年齡組別及技術水平的球員主持訓練營,其中包括將會出戰4月底香港公開賽的香港男、女子代表隊。他表示:「對於棍網球來說,無論球員是高矮肥瘦、強壯與否並不重要,最重要是做好基本功,即使強如美國國家隊,他們每次訓練仍十分着重基本技術,因為訓練的成果是不能被拿走的。」 香港青少年運動員要面對沉重學業的壓力,Kyle表示自己在大學時期同樣要面對兼顧學業的問題,唯一的解決方案就是要有取捨,為了學業及棍網球,他選擇犧牲玩樂以及與朋友相聚的時間。Kyle的父親是一位棍網球球員,自小便接觸這項運動,不過成為職業棍網球員卻從來不是他的夢想,他只是希望成為一位職業運動員。令他最後踏上職業棍網球手之路,反而是因為棍網球本身集各種運動的優點,例如它擁有美式足球的衝撞性、冰球的速度技術等,讓他逐漸愛上這項運動。 在周六的本地青少年球員訓練營中,Kyle碰上幾位球員穿上其代言、刻有其「K18」標誌的裝備,這令他感到十分興奮及意外。他表示:「棍網球讓我有很多的得着,我無法想像自己的人生缺少了這項運動。好像去年躋身大學名人堂令我感到喜出望外。」 香港棍網球總會男子隊總教練布思國(Scott Browning)表示:「Kyle在美國職業棍網球界以出色的走位及射門見稱,這次由他主持的訓練營,為香港球員提供了一個極佳的機會提高本身的技術水平,整個棍網球界都為此十分雀躍。」2014年的上屆世界盃,香港男子代表隊名列21,布思國希望港隊在這4年一度的賽事的成績能超越上屆。港隊將會未來將會積極備戰4月底展開的香港公開賽。至於球隊的最後陣容預料在5月中公布。之後港隊將會進行密集訓練及到海外集訓,為7月12至21日舉行的世界盃作最後準備。 現年34歲的Kyle Harrison曾於2005年奪得棍網球界最高榮譽的Tewaaraton Award,即全國最佳球員獎。他更在2004及2005年贏得全國最佳中場球員的McLaughlin Award ,是美國棍網球界的殿堂級人馬。現效力Ohio Machine的Kyle,大學時期已鋒芒畢露,他協助The Johns Hopkins University在2005年登上NCAA全美大學聯賽第一組的冠軍寶座,去年更躋身Johns Hopkins大學名人堂(Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame)。 資料及相片來源 : N Square Company Limited / 香港棍網球總會

  • ROSENQVIST MOVES TO TOP OF STANDINGS AFTER VICTORY IN MARRAKESH

    MARRAKESH, MOROCCO (January 13, 2018) - Felix Rosenqvist bided his time and made amends for missing out on victory in Marrakesh last year with a late move on Sebastien Buemi to clinch his second consecutive win of the season. The Mahindra Racing driver looked comfortable in the fight at the front and closely followed Buemi for the second stint ready to pounce. The Swede, who was fortune to complete the distance after a battery change between qualifying and the race, stuck behind the slipstream of the Renault e.dams driver and made a lunge up the inside of Turn 7 to take the lead. From there Rosenqvist didn’t look back and held on to victory at the same venue where he lost out on the win in only his second-ever Formula E race. It’s the first time Rosenqvist has stood at the top of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship standings, four points clear of DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird who came home in third place. Buemi, who only managed to score a solitary point in the opening two rounds in Hong Kong, showed a return to form starting from the front of the grid from Julius Baer pole position. The Swiss champion made a clean getaway and led through the pitstop phase, but ultimately lost out to Rosenqvist. However, it wasn’t such plain sailing for Buemi as his preparations were hampered by an issue with the water pump. The Renault e.dams engineers had to invert the order of his cars to ensure they could fix the problem and get him out in time. It was a similar story for Bird, who remained behind the rear wing of Buemi in the opening laps but gave up the position to Rosenqvist after a recurring technical issue caused him to slow down. Despite relinquishing the place, Bird took the chequered flag in third place to continue his strong start to the season. Another name carrying over form from Hong Kong was season one champion Nelson Piquet Jr, who equalled his best-placed finish of the current campaign in fourth for Panasonic Jaguar Racing and scored the extra point for Visa fastest lap. The Brazilian gained a place in the mandatory car swap, coming out ahead of Jose Maria Lopez making his Formula E return with the DRAGON outfit. Lopez - who’s familiar with the Marrakesh surroundings having raced here in other categories - put on an impressive performance from the second row of the grid to collect eight points in sixth-place behind Jean-Eric Vergne for TECHEETAH. Rosenqvist’s team-mate Nick Heidfeld scythed his way through the pack to finish seventh after hitting the wall during qualifying. Formula E debutant Tom Blomqvist claimed points in his first-ever race for Andretti in eighth. It wasn’t a day to remember for Nico Prost. The Frenchman and three-time E-Prix winner was pitched into a spin by Andre Lotterer sending him to the back of the field, and later picked up a 20-second post-race penalty for speeding under Full Course Yellow - leaving Alex Lynn and Daniel Abt to round out the top-10 positions.   • Competition intensifies as the doldrums take hold

    The new week started with a reshuffle of the Leg 4 leaderboard as the seven-strong Volvo Ocean Race fleet eased into the Doldrums for the second time so far this race. After six days at sea, racing is so tight between the top five teams that the smallest of gains or losses can propel them up the rankings or send them plummeting down the positions. This was certainly the case on Monday as Vestas 11th Hour Racing became the new Leg 4 leaders while Dongfeng Race Team, the table-toppers for the first five days of racing, found themselves in fourth. Earlier Monday it was MAPFRE who occupied the top spot but at 1300 UTC the Spanish team had slid to fifth, while Turn the Tide on Plastic had rocketed into second. In reality the top five are neck and neck, just six miles splitting them in terms of distance to finish, and reason for the reordering is down to each team’s lateral positioning. As the most westerly boat in the fleet, Vestas 11th Hour Racing are now closer to the next waypoint than any other team. But whether this is the strongest position tactically remains to be seen. Dongfeng are the furthest east of the fleet, with MAPFRE, Turn the Tide on Plastic and team AkzoNobel inside them. With the current forecast the fleet is facing several hundred miles of light winds through the Doldrums, characterised by clouds, thunder storms and squalls that can hit without warning. The most direct route to Hong Kong would see them sail a more north-westerly course, but for all seven teams the key to success lies in how soon they can escape the clutches of the Doldrums. That means heading north as quickly as possible to get to the north-easterly trade winds and the better, more stable breeze they promise. The next 36 hours will arguably be among the most vital of the 6,000-mile stage – and could ultimately determine the Leg 4 podium despite there still being more than 3,000 miles left to sail. The enormity of the situation has not been lost on the sailors. “We've just had a post sunset total race reset,” said AkzoNobel’s Luke Molloy. “Vestas, MAPFRE, Dongfeng and Azko are all bunched together with TTOP not far behind. "The moment is intense, it could be the making or breaking of the race over the next hour." Vestas 11th Hour Racing crewmember Tom Johnson added: “Everyone’s had their chance at leading in this front pack. You’ve just got to make the right tactical call, get the right cloud, take the shift and it’s all up for grabs.” While the battle raged for first place, Team Brunel in sixth, around 20 miles south of the leading group, had other things than just racing to contend with when they bore the brunt of a particularly violent electric storm. “The stable breeze instantly changed and before we knew it we were becalmed,” skipper Bouwe Bekking revealed. “Then a huge lightning strike hit, so close the sparks were flying off the mast and runners. “Rome [Kirby], who was driving, was lying flat on the deck, just from the shock of the massive sound as well.” None of the sailors were injured, and miraculously their boat electronics survived intact too. Whether the nerves of the sailors across the fleet survive as well over the coming days is an open question.
