The 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series calendar will see a return to the three circuits seen in 2024/25, with Rounds 1 and 2 in Malaysia, Rounds 3 and 4 in Dubai and Rounds 5 and 6 in Abu Dhabi. The opening two 4-hour races will take place at the Sepang International Circuit near Kuala Lumpur in December, one week later than 2024 on the 12-14 December 2025. The two races in Dubai will be held on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February, with the season finale at the Yas Marina Circuit a week later on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February 2026. There had been a possibility to include Buriram in Thailand in the 2025/26 calendar at the end of November, but, unfortunately, a suitable date that worked for both the series and the circuit couldn’t be found. The Mandalika Circuit in Indonesian had also been considered as an alternative but the upgrades needed to bring it up to the required safety standards for the Le Mans Prototypes couldn’t be guaranteed to be completed on time. Both circuits are being considered for the 2026/27 season. The calendar is stable, the circuits esteemed, and the championship is an excellent springboard towards higher goals. MARCH 16, 2024 BANGKOK (Thailand) - Serbia (men) and Canada (women) win against the Netherlands and Spain respectively to win the FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup 2025 on March 16. The men’s side of the tournament culminated with a huge tie between Serbia and the Netherlands, a matchup guaranteed to deliver fireworks. The highly-touted battle started off hot with early buckets from both the Serbians and the Dutch. Worthy de Jong was flowing early with his sublime drives setting the pace for his side. The Serbians kept answering back though, with Marko Brankovic and Stefan Milivojevic steadying the ship. The Dutch had momentum in their favor as they took an 11 - 8 lead with over 2 minutes to go. Their veteran opposition did not let up though, as they regained the lead through Milivojevic. It was his turn to takeover in the last moments of the game with a huge two and key foul-drawing. With 38 seconds to go, Serbia held the lead at 16 - 14. A huge two from Worthy tied things up but a subsequent foul took Serbia to the free throw line yet again. They made one of two which would prove to be enough. Serbia would earn Gold at the Champions Cup with a thrilling 17 - 16 win over the Dutch. On the women’s side, it came down to a battle between the two on-fire sides in the tournament in Canada and Spain. It was a testy start between the two unbeaten sides, proving to be the physical matchup it was purported to be. An inside battle early on, the likes of Cecilia Muhate and Saicha Grant Allen notched early points for their sides. Both teams went back-and-forth on the scoreline, with little separating them for the majority of the game. It was a free-flowing offensive display from two well-matched nations. With time winding down, Canada started to pull ahead thanks to timely buckets from Grant-Allen and Katherine Plouffe. They held a 2-point advantage after a last-gasp effort from Spain went falling by the wayside. The Canadians picked up a 15 - 13 victory to claim the first-ever gold in the 3x3 Champions Cup. In the bronze medal games, Australia (women) came out victors in a tightly-contested matchup against Germany. A late bucket from Hannah Hank was the go-ahead winner that earned the Aussies Bronze. On the men’s side, Australia and the United States had yet another blockbuster affair that saw the Aussies emerge victorious yet again. A high-octane matchup found itself tied right down to the wire. A late foul from team USA put the Aussies on the line with scores at 20 apiece. John Dillon Stith put the game to bed from behind the line as the Gangurrus took home two Bronze medals at the 3x3 Champions Cup. Serbia’s Stefan Milivojevic was the team’s offensive engine all tournament. He notched 36 points in their 5 games, including a whopping 10 points in the final against the Netherlands. His clutch buckets down the stretch on the final day earned him MVP plaudits. He leads the men’s Team of the Tournament alongside Worthy de Jong (NED) who was his usual stellar self on the Dutch’s way to silver and Alex Higgins-Titsha who was a two-way star for the Aussies as his contributions proved to be key on their way to Bronze. Canada’s Saicha Grant-Allen was immense for her side as her presence in the paint paid dividends on both ends of the game. Her 32 points and tournament-high 40.7 player value earned her MVP honors. She would be joined by Cecilia Muhate (Spain) and Miela Goodchild (Australia), who led their sides to silver and bronze respectively, in the women’s team of the tournament. Mens standings 1. 中國瑞昌羽毛球大師賽今日（3月16日）於江西省瑞昌市體育公園體育館上演決賽，屬世界羽聯超級100賽。中國香港羽毛球隊混合雙打組合鄧俊文／吳芷柔勇奪冠軍，相隔6年二人再次踏上頒獎台頂峰。 鄧俊文／吳芷柔曾於2019年搭檔，先後在泰國大師賽超級300取得季軍及中國陵水羽毛球大師賽超級100奪得冠軍。直至今年年初，二人再次合作出戰世界羽聯世界巡迴賽，雖然前幾站的成績未如理想，但經過一段磨合期後終現成果。鄧俊文／吳芷柔今站瑞昌大師賽以7號種子身份參賽，首兩圈先後力挫大馬組合賴俊呈／黎庭岑，與2024馬來西亞及越南連續兩站國際系列賽混雙冠軍國羽代表商亦辰／林芳靈晉級。八強再次遇上上月在青島進行的亞洲混合團體錦標賽八強對手中國組合李泓毅／鮑驪婧，港將以兩局26-24、21-16勝出。 準決賽面對國羽新生代組合，2022世青混雙亞軍得主廖品逸／黃可欣，雙方鬥至決勝局，鄧俊文／吳芷柔以21-13、16-21、21-10擊敗對手。決賽對手是中國另一新生代組合，8號種子章涵宇／唐睿芝，首局初段形勢緊湊，但港隊站穩腳後採取主動攻勢，將比分拉開至10-5。雖然國羽一度追近比分，但鄧俊文／吳芷柔憑較穩定發揮，以21-17先取首局。第二局形勢相反，國羽一度將比分拉開至10-5，但鄧俊文／吳芷柔咬緊牙關一口氣連追5分至10平手。惜港隊在技術暫停後有較多失誤，被對手以21-18扳回一成。決勝局，港隊稍佔優勢，一度連取5分半局頒先11-7。交換場區後，鄧俊文／吳芷柔憑藉靈活的調動進一步擴大比分，最終以21-17、18-21、21-12勝出。繼2019年後，二人再次在世巡賽奪得冠軍。 資料及相片來源 : 中國香港羽毛球總會 / Badminton Photo

Basketball fans from across the globe flocked to watch crucial qualifying games during the final international window for the FIBA Continental Cups, with the largest crowds consisting of over 11,000 in Shenzhen to watch China face Japan and in Riga to see Latvia play Spain. FIBA Men's and Women’s Continental Cups 2025 Preparation reports were delivered for the upcoming Continental Cups, taking place this year for both men and women. Site visits took place in February and the draw for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers has been confirmed for May 13, 2025, in the host city of Doha. Starting in November, the highly anticipated World Cup Qualifiers will see 80 teams play over 18 months across six windows in pursuit of a ticket to the prestigious FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 and Qualifiers A report was received on the preparations for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026, which will be played in the German capital of Berlin, with a site visit taking place in early March. A new competition schedule has been approved to increase spectator attendance and maximize the exposure of the event. The Executive Committee also approved the bidding process for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournaments. Applications will be invited in May by National Federations, with the final decision on the hosts to be made by October 2025. The tournaments will feature 24 teams divided into four groups of six teams each playing in a round-robin format, qualifying the best 16 teams in the world to the women’s flagship event in Berlin. Strategic Priorities An executive summary on the three strategic priorities was presented to the Executive Committee, which included the following highlights: * Empower National Federations: FIBA has prioritized empowering National Federations through a variety of initiatives. A total of 112 National Federations were supported through FIBA Plus activities in 2024. * Women in Basketball: FIBA's highly successful Her World, Her Rules (HWHR) program opened its application process to National Federations for the latest funding round of the grassroots initiative for 2025. A total of 85 countries were supported by the program in 2024. * Shape International Club Competitions: FIBA's club competitions are currently in the midst of their 24/25 season for most leagues, including the Basketball Champions League, BCL Americas, and WASL. The BCL Asia East will tip off later this month for its inaugural season, serving as the qualification for BCL Asia. The Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 season is set to begin soon, following the recent conclusion of the Road to BAL. Additionally, FIBA has successfully launched women's leagues in four regions, with the Women's Basketball League Africa 2024, Women's Basketball League Americas 2024, and Women's Basketball League Asia 2024 all taking place last year. The EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women 24/25 seasons are now entering their final stages. 3x3 A comprehensive report on 3x3 achievements in 2024 highlighted its record-breaking digital engagement, further solidifying its status as the world's fastest-growing urban sport. 2024 was an action-packed year, featuring a 17-stop World Tour, 20 Women's Series stops and the historic Olympic Games in Paris. Preparations are well underway for the 3x3 Champions Cup 2025, debuting this week in Thailand, as well as the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2025 later this year in Mongolia. National Federation Matters The Executive Committee approved the agreement between the Brazilian Basketball Confederation and the men's National League in the country. This marks a major step towards the further development of basketball in the country, following a successful period for the men's national team, qualifying for the Olympics and finishing seventh in Paris, and the clubs, with Sesi Franca winning the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2023. The successful conclusion of the 10-year (2014-2024) Japan Task Force operations was acknowledged with the approval of the final report, which has seen the Japan Basketball Association and the B League among the fastest developing federations and leagues in the world, respectively.
