- McLaren Racing secures option to join ABB FIA Formula E World Championship grid for Gen3. - McLaren Racing to evaluate the addition of an electric chapter to its motorsport heritage. London, England (January 11, 2021) - Today McLaren Racing and Formula E announced they have signed an agreement granting McLaren Racing an option to enter the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship when Formula E’s Gen3 kicks off in Season 9. Part of McLaren Racing’s ongoing evaluation of potential new motorsport platforms, the agreement provides McLaren the option to enter the Championship as one of a maximum 12 entries for the 2022/23 season. McLaren Racing has formalised its interest in joining Formula E’s team and manufacturer line-up from the new Gen3 era. Gen3 will take to the track from the 2022/23 season, bringing performance and efficiency advances including more powerful, lighter cars and faster charging as well as a set of technical and financial controls aimed at reinforcing the business case for Formula E’s ecosystem of teams and manufacturers. - New esports competition will see 24 rising stars compete in six events mentored by Formula E teams and drivers. - Formula E will be translated into the virtual world as digital racers have to master energy management and Attack Mode for the first time. - Minimum prize pool of €100,000 with winner receiving opportunity to drive a Formula E Gen2 car. London, England (January 7, 2021) - Formula E today announced its new esports competition Formula E Accelerate, which builds on the success of last year’s ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge in support of UNICEF. Over six events, 24 rising stars from the world of motorsport and esports will compete against one another in a simulated racing experience using rFactor2 software. Blending the real and virtual worlds, each competitor will score Formula E Accelerate points for a real-life Formula E team. The virtual racers will also receive expert tips, mentoring and other talent development opportunities from the team they are attached to. Competitors will need to contend with new energy management and Attack Mode features during the online E-Prix. Prior to the competition, there will be online qualifying open to the public with the top-three quickest times on the Berlin Tempelhof E-Prix circuit* earning places on the Formula E Accelerate virtual grid. Everyone who participates in all six races will receive a share of a minimum prize pool of €100,000 with the overall winner earning a test drive in a Formula E Gen2 car. There will be two additional virtual races, each featuring 12 real-life Formula E drivers, one per racing team, during Round 4 and the Grand Final of Formula E Accelerate (schedule below*). Points from these races will be added to the overall team standings. Record Entry List for 2021 Asian Le Mans Series! Provisional list of 36 entries announced 50 days before the start of the season. The 2021 Asian Le Mans Series is set to be a record breaker with the biggest ever field set to battle for Championship glory. 50 days before the opening race of the Championship, 36 full season entries have already been received. The grid will be made up of 17 prototypes (7 LMP2 and 10 LMP3), and 19 GT3 entries which should deliver intense battles throughout the grid. Returning Champions: All four reigning Champions from the 2019/2020 season will return to defend their Championships, with outright Champions G-Drive Racing by Algarve doubling their effort this season, entering two cars. LMP2 Am Champions, Eurointernational will partner with Ojets Prestige Racing in the LMP2 Am class. After making their debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 earlier this year Nielsen Racing will return once again with a two-car effort to defend their LMP3 title. Another team that made their debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, reigning GT Champions HubAuto, will also return. In addition to reigning Champions, 2018/2019 winners, United Autosports are set to return having entered three LMP3s this season. Another returning Championship winning team is JOTA who partnered with Jackie Chan DC Racing to claim the title in the 2017/2018 Asian Le Mans Series. The have entered one LMP2 entry and will partner with Series debutants Era Motorsport on a second entry. New Teams: This season will see no fewer than 12 teams making their debut in the Asian Le Mans Series, including one brand new team, Racing Team India. Making their debut with the Series will be CD Sport, DKR Engineering, Era Motorsport, Formula Racing, Garage 59, GPX, Inception Racing with Optimum, Phoenix Racing, Precote Herbeth Motorsport, Rinaldi Racing, and Walkenhorst Motorsport. Returning teams: There will be also be plenty of familiar faces on the grid as well with longstanding team ARC Bratislava returning this season with an LMP3 entry – the debut of the Ginetta LMP3. After damage cut their season short last season RLR MSport are back to fight for the LMP3 Championship. TF Sport are also returning to the series with a two-car Aston Martin Vantage GT3 effort including the Oman Racing entry. Japanese team, D’station Racing will also be back with their Aston Martin Vantage, and AF Corse will return with two Ferrari 488 GT3s. After a long break, Absolute Racing will also be back with a two-car entry in the GT class. Strong GT Class: The GT field is set to see at least five different manufacturers represented on the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series. There will be one McLaren 720S GT3, two BMW M6 GT3s, three Porsche 911 GT3 R and then five each of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, and Ferrari 488 GT3s. The Series will be missing some of its regular Asian based entries this season. Many continue to face very strict travel restrictions that have made it incredibly difficult to race this season. The Asian Le Mans Series team hopes to see things improve for them all in the coming months so that we are all able to get back to racing. They will be missed, but we hope to see them all again for the 2021/2022 Asian Le Mans Series at the end of next year. Changes to the schedule: As previously announced, the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series will follow a different format than it has done previously. Instead of four different races in four different countries spread over four months, the Series will be run, in its entirety, at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in February 2021. The season will start with the first two races held on the 5th & 6th of February. The final two races will be held on the 19th & 20th of February. The new season will continue to be comprised of four x four hours races The races will be run on two different track layouts, with a mix of daylight, twilight and night-time racing. [2019年12月13日，香港]: 彭博香港蘇格蘭人欖球隊(蘇格蘭人)與SCAA第一太平銅鑼灣鳳凰欖球會(鳳凰)今個星期六(傍晚6時，英皇佐治五世學校)的交戰是焦點所在，而Transact 24 大埔龍欖球會(大埔龍)將於同日(下午4時30分，京士柏運動場)與香港嘉里酒店九龍欖球會(九龍)也是聯賽下區戲碼之一。 今季年底的煞科戰，聯賽上區榜首的法興銀行華利女子欖球會(華利)將與Natixis香港足球會(港會)一較高下（下午3時），而雞糊鷹隊(雞糊)將與Borrelli Walsh三軍會猛虎欖球會(猛虎)交戰（傍晚6時，京士柏欖球場）。賽季將於1月4日歇冬後和季後總決賽前餘下三輪賽事。 今週焦點落在下區第二位的蘇格蘭人（2勝1負得9分）和落後4分的第三位鳳凰之對決。九龍在週中擊敗蘇格蘭人後（12月10日，27-7）位居下區之首 。 蘇格蘭要迅速反彈才能繼續追趕九龍，兩軍將於1月11日再度碰頭，該仗極可能決定皇位誰屬。 蘇格蘭人統帥譚偉基認為週中的敗仗有一定程度受之前港隊國際賽所影響，他說：「我們休戰一段長時間後要8日內比賽3次，這是甚為艱難的。我們對大埔一役後損兵折將，主力之一的吳雪盈更在對九龍一役早段前十字韌帶撕裂。」 「我們對九龍時未能保持一貫比賽風格和犯錯太多，對手的演出更佳，因此獲勝是實至名歸，而且他們的陣容老嫩兼備，實力平均和打法效率高。」 蘇格蘭人在歇冬休養生息前還要傾力一 戰。 譚氏續說: 「對鳳凰前我們保持進步外和盡量讓球員恢復體力。眾所周知未來每場比賽都很重要，我們並沒有任何犯錯空間。」 鳳凰希望逼使蘇格蘭人在週六犯錯，鳳凰教頭王子盈今季專心重建球隊，陣中更有幾名球員初嘗超級聯賽滋味，她希望麾下球員能全神貫注並道: 「我們對蘇格蘭人的打法不會變化太多，並且專心作賽至完場前一刻。我們信心十足，而各隊的實力不相伯仲，所以勝負取決於自己的表現好與壞。」 除著季尾的來臨，每支球隊都面對十字軍的問題，鳳凰也未能獨善其身。 王氏說: 「我們上週比賽後有更多傷兵，幸好有些球員復出而保持一定兵源。這情況在今季維持了好一段時間。」 王氏認為球隊如要在積分榜更上一層樓需要同時派出最強陣容才能成事，她希望球員能保持頭腦冷靜。她續說: 「我們的目標是下區的首兩名總成績，但我不希望球員因此而分心，她們要專注於每場比賽之上。」 聯賽上區方面，華利與第4位的港會切磋，雞糊將與猛虎為次席而角力。 猛虎早前在11月以17-12力克雞糊，後者主帥黎耀鵬希望對傷兵滿營的猛虎落井下石，藉此保持爭冠希望。今仗將是雞糊在2020年兩鬥華利前建立強勢的良機。 資料及相片來源 : Elite Step Asia / HKRU
